Kristine Edvinson

Commercial Manager, Norway

As Commercial Manager for NOR in Norway, Kristine works to secure revenue through customer relationships, project opportunities and strong deliveries. NOR’s customers carry out complex subsea and offshore operations in Norway and internationally, and often depend on fast, reliable and well-informed responses.

Kristine’s role is to help make sure customers get the support they need, so they can focus on their own core operations while NOR delivers quality, flexibility and added value.

What the role involves

Kristine’s work is closely connected to the pace of the offshore industry, where plans and priorities can change quickly. For her, this is also one of the most rewarding parts of the role: responding fast, staying flexible and finding good solutions together with the team.

“I am quite competitive, so it is especially rewarding to be in a position where we win projects and build on the strong reputation that skilled people have created.”

Most important skill

For Kristine, willingness to work hard and pride in the job are among the most important qualities she brings to her role every day.

She believes that genuine pride in NOR, the team and what the company delivers has a positive effect on the people around her. For Kristine, the combination of skilled colleagues and strong equipment is one of NOR’s greatest strengths.

“I genuinely believe we have an incredible combination of talented people and good equipment.”

Career development

Kristine was drawn to the subsea and offshore industry through a combination of background, interest and opportunity. Growing up on the west coast of Norway often means having a natural connection to the maritime industry, and for Kristine, the energy and relevance of the offshore environment made the industry a natural fit.

Since joining NOR, her role has developed as she has got to know the organisation and found her place within it. She values trust and responsibility, and wants to contribute to a working environment where people feel confident taking ownership, while knowing that support is always available if things do not go exactly as planned.

Work environment

Kristine describes the work environment at NOR as:

Efficient. Ambitious. Positive.

What she enjoys most about working with her team is the way people step up and support each other when needed. When something changes suddenly, the focus is not on blame, but on finding a solution.

The team is highly skilled and driven, and Kristine believes much of NOR’s strength comes from setting high goals and working hard together to reach them.

Being part of NOR

Kristine is proud to be part of a company that combines a high pace with a culture where people are seen and recognised.

NOR’s ability to deliver, stay fair and remain flexible when the situation requires it is something she values highly. She is also proud of the trust NOR has built in the industry, and that customers want to work with the company again.

Advice for someone starting out

Kristine’s advice to anyone new to the industry is to roll up their sleeves and dare to try.

Mistakes can be part of learning, and she believes people develop by taking initiative, asking questions and being honest when something does not go as planned. At NOR, she sees a culture where people are supported, and where good systems help employees learn and succeed.

Outside of work

Outside of work, Kristine likes when things are happening. Much of her time is spent with family and friends, the house, boat and garden, as well as her children’s activities.

She also plays handball for the women’s team at Rival/Nord and holds board positions connected to both work and personal interests. In her own words, it may sound a little chaotic, but she is structured, efficient and does not spend energy on unnecessary things.
