Mini MATRIX

Compact ROV Survey Multiplexer

Description

The Mini MATRIX is a compact survey multiplexer for ROVs that carry a large spread of sensors. Based on the same technology as the Matrix MKII+, it provides a plug-and-play interface for a wide range of sensors in a compact canister, and supports most dual-head multibeam systems on the market.

The subsea unit combines three Gigabit Ethernet channels, 14 serial channels and three analog video channels, plus two 5 V TTL triggers, with all serial and trigger interfaces isolated. It delivers up to 1,050 W of DC power through software-switchable and relay-controlled 24 V and 48 V outputs with software-resettable fuses, plus a 110 VAC relay output. The canister is rated to 3,000 m and weighs 25 kg in air and 12 kg in water.

The topside unit is a 19" 3U rack unit with a 7" Linux-based touch screen that shows the status of every channel, monitors voltage and current, and logs alarms, warnings and operating hours. The system can also be controlled from a web browser over Ethernet. Built-in diagnostics include humidity, temperature, water ingress and DC ground fault detection, as well as fibre, SFP and control board diagnostics.
