400 t Adjustable Spreader Beam
Modular Spreader Beam, 2–25 m Span
Description
This adjustable spreader beam is a modular lifting solution for safe handling of heavy and oversized loads in offshore, subsea and onshore lifting operations. It has a working load limit of up to 400 t and a span adjustable from 2 to 25 m in 0.5 m steps. By distributing the lifting forces across the lifting points, it reduces stress on the load and the risk of damage during the lift.
The beam is built from two end units joined by struts in lengths of 0.5, 1, 2, 3 and 6 m, so it can be configured to the span each lift requires. Each end unit has a top padeye for a 300 t shackle and a bottom padeye for a 200 t shackle, connected through a drop link. The struts are joined with M24 × 90 mm grade 8.8 HT galvanized bolts, tightened to 250 Nm with a 36 mm spanner.
The WLL depends on span and sling angle. At a 20° sling-to-vertical angle, the beam takes the full 400 t up to a 22 m span; at 30°, up to 17 m; and at 45°, up to 12 m. For subsea use down to 150 m depth, the WLL is 344 t up to a 17 m span at a 30° sling angle. The full load and configuration tables are in the datasheet.
The spreader beam is supplied with certificate and user instructions, and DNV type approval is available on request. Slings and shackles can be supplied with the beam.
