Description
The AML Oceanographic AML-3 is a sound velocity profiler in the X2•Series, a configurable family of multiparameter sondes with exchangeable sensors for different applications and depth ranges. This version of the AML-3 is rated to a max depth of 500 m and has an acetal pressure housing.
The 500 m AML-3 has 3 ports, with an option for up to 5, and communicates over WiFi, USB-C and RS232, with automatic WiFi data transfer for shallow instruments. The AML-3 runs on an 8–30 VDC input voltage and has Street Lamp UV biofouling protection. The instrument measures 332 × 76 mm, weighs 1.36 kg in air and 0.69 kg in water, and is fitted with a stainless steel protective cage (CuNi cage optional). The AML-3 uses AML Sailfish software.
AML Oceanographic lists X2•Series instruments for shallow and deep profiling, coastal monitoring, buoy/in-situ deployments, AUV/glider integration, ROV integration, transducer mount/surface SV and OEM integration. If one sensor is inaccessible, spares can be exchanged so operations can continue, and X2•Series instruments can be upgraded or reconfigured at any time.
