Compatt 6+ USBL/LBL Transponder
USBL/LBL Wideband Transponder
Description
The Compatt 6+ USBL/LBL Transponder is a Wideband 2 and 3 enabled acoustic transponder for high-precision survey and construction operations. The Compatt 6+ is compatible with all 6G equipment and with Sonardyne 6G LBL, INS and USBL systems, including Fusion 2. It operates in the Medium Frequency (MF) band, 20–34 kHz, using Sonardyne Wideband 2 and 3 telemetry protocols, and is compatible with Sonardyne Wideband 2 and HPR 400 navigation.
The Compatt 6+ is listed in three types: Type 8300-3111 (omni-directional transducer, 3,000 m), Type 8300-3113 (directional transducer, 3,000 m) and Type 8300-5213 (directional transducer, 5,000 m). Ranging precision is better than 15 mm for all three types, and each type supports more than 300 unique Wideband 2 addresses. Transmit source level is 187–196 dB re 1 μPa @ 1 m (omni-directional) or 190–202 dB re 1 μPa @ 1 m (directional), in 4 levels. Battery life (listening) is 833 days with alkaline batteries or 1,390 days with lithium batteries, and the transponder accepts a 24 V external power supply.
An integrated modem mode gives data rates of 100–9,000 bps. Real-time diagnostics are available on ranges for quality control, multiuser support is included, and the Compatt 6+ powers down automatically if not used for a programmable period. A release mechanism, temperature sensor (±0.1 °C), tilt switch, strain gauge pressure sensor (±0.1 %), inclinometer (±90°, accuracy ±1°), power for external sensors and gyro input are standard on all types. A high precision strain gauge, a Paroscientific DigiQuartz pressure sensor, a high accuracy inclinometer and a sound velocity sensor are optional. A battery disconnect fob allows quick battery disconnection, and the safe working load (4:1) is 250 kg.
