Description
The EdgeTech 4205 MP/MT is the multi-pulse/motion tolerant configuration of the EdgeTech 4205 side scan sonar system, with a choice of either 120/410 kHz, 230/540 kHz, 540/850 kHz or 230/850 kHz. The EdgeTech 4205 uses EdgeTech’s Full Spectrum® CHIRP technology to provide high resolution imagery at ranges up to 50% greater than non-CHIRP systems. Operating range is 600 m per side at 120 kHz, 350 m at 230 kHz, 200 m at 410 kHz, 150 m at 540 kHz and 90 m at 850 kHz.
The motion tolerant configuration with multi-pulse allows operation either at faster survey speeds or in more adverse weather conditions. The EdgeTech 4205 MP/MT can also be operated in a single pulse high-resolution mode for operations that require an even more finite view of the seafloor. In MP/MT mode, horizontal beam width is 0.95° at 120 kHz to 0.33° at 850 kHz, and resolution across track is 8 cm at 120 kHz to 1 cm at 850 kHz.
The stainless steel towfish is 140 cm long, 12 cm in diameter and weighs 52 kg in air, with a depth rating of 2,000 m. Heading, pitch and roll sensors are standard, with a more accurate heading sensor for towfish and target positioning and increased towfish power for 3rd party sensors. The topside is a 19” rack mount interface (150 watt or 400 watt) on 115/230 VAC, with Ethernet and RS 232 sensor interfaces and data in native JSF or XTF format.
