ROV Launch and Recovery Latch
Description
The Imenco Mini Latch makes deployment and recovery of ROVs, and other equipment carrying a messenger line, safer and easier at loads up to 1.5 t. It attaches to the tether or umbilical through a cable entrance door, and latches onto an accompanying termination bullet that slides along the umbilical, even at angles down to 30° above the horizontal.
The latch can release itself in water when a medium-sized Grimsby float is attached to the release lever, or it can be released with a release line. Made from 6082-T6 aluminium and stainless steel, it weighs 7 kg in air and fits umbilicals and tethers up to 33 mm in diameter.
