Innova Quattro

Proportional Hydraulic Controller Unit

Description

The Innova Quattro is a compact hydraulic controller unit with four valves, each capable of providing up to 22 lpm hydraulic flow, proportionally controlled over a serial line. It is used for controlling hydraulic tooling such as torque tools and inspection tools, and for increasing the capacity of an ROV or tooling system.

The Innova Quattro is built around an oil-filled, pressure-compensated housing containing four 4/3-way proportional valves. The pressure on two of the valves is controlled via an integrated proportional pressure reducing valve, and two pressure sensors measure full system pressure and reduced pressure. This gives two valve functions with A and B ports with proportionally controlled flow and pressure, and two valve functions with A and B ports with proportionally controlled flow at full pressure.

All functions of the Innova Quattro are controlled via RS232 or RS485 serial line by the Innova PWM 16 controller module, which has 16 PWM outputs (9 for controlling the valves, 7 spare), 6 10-bit analogue inputs (2 for pressure sensors, 4 spare for torque feedback or similar) and 4 isolated digital inputs. The spare IO can monitor external sensors such as torque sensors and operate external valve functions. The unit requires 24 VDC, connects via a Burton 5506-1508 connector, measures 268 × Ø178 mm including connectors, is made of hard anodized aluminium 6082-T6 and is rated to 3000 m.

On the surface, all tool functions of the Innova Quattro are controlled and monitored via a software package. Dedicated software or hand-controllers are available as other surface control options (optional).
