ROV Deployment and Recovery Latch
Description
The Micro Latch is a latch for deployment and recovery of ROVs up to 0.5 te, and of other equipment carrying a messenger line. It attaches to and detaches from the tether through a cable entrance door, and connects to its accompanying termination bullet sliding on the umbilical cable down to a 30° angle above the horizontal.
The Micro Latch has a safe working load of 0.5 ton WLL with a dynamic factor (DAF) of 3, takes umbilicals or tethers up to 22 mm diameter and weighs 6 kg in air. It is made from aluminium 6082T6 and stainless steel S165M/31655.
The Micro Latch self-releases in water when a medium-sized Grimsby float is attached to the release lever; alternatively, a release line can be used.
