Phasec 3 Eddy Current Flaw Detector
Portable Eddy Current Flaw Detector
Description
The Phasec 3 Eddy Current Flaw Detector is a portable eddy current instrument for applications from high frequency surface inspection to low frequency sub-surface inspection. The Phasec 3 weighs 1.1 kg including batteries, measures 192 × 139 × 57 mm (W × H × D) and gives up to 6 hours operating life on batteries.
The Phasec 3 covers a frequency range of 10 Hz–10 MHz, with overall gain from −8 to +96 dB in 0.1 steps and a phase range of 0–359.9° in 0.1 steps with auto lift off. Operating modes are single frequency, conductivity and coating thickness. Alarms have 9 box modes and 2 sector modes, and balance load is automatic or manual.
The Phasec 3 colour TFT display has a viewable area of 117.2 × 88.4 mm and a resolution of 320 × 240 pixels. Internal storage holds up to 200 set-ups and 200 traces, with 60 s record replay. Softkeys can be assigned for parameter adjustment without using the menu, and the buttons are laid out for use with gloves by right-handed and left-handed inspectors.
The Phasec 3 has a 12-way Lemo probe connection and USB, digital alarm and VGA outputs. Data sets and screen images can be downloaded over USB to the Windows-based Supervisor PC reporting software. The instrument internals are designed to resist moist, tropical or salt-laden atmospheres, the operating temperature is 0–40 °C and the IP rating is IP54. Probes, cables and test pieces are interchangeable between instruments.
