Sonardyne Subsea Acoustic Data Logger System
Acoustic data logger for downhole gauges, Type 8057
Description
The Sonardyne Subsea Acoustic Data Logger System uses a spread spectrum, high speed acoustic link to allow large volumes of logged data to be retrieved at the surface. The subsea unit (Type 8057) is designed for ROV deployment and retrieval, can be moved between wells by ROV and interfaces to all industry standard downhole gauges; custom interfaces can be supplied on request.
The Sonardyne Subsea Acoustic Data Logger System is intended for initial well appraisal, where downhole pressure and temperature readings are logged over a period of a few weeks, and for long-term deployments where it may remain installed on a wellhead for several years.
The Type 8057 data logger operates at LF (14–19 kHz) with a transmit source level of 192 dB (shallow) or 202 dB (deep) re 1 µPa @ 1 m, an acoustic data transmission rate of 600 Baud (true payload rate; raw data rate 1200 Baud) and 8 Mb standard data storage (expandable to 16 Mb). It is powered by long life lithium batteries, constructed in super duplex stainless steel, rated to 3,000 metres and weighs 70 kg in air and 50 kg in water.
