TAG 35 Dala-Gripen
Salt Water Hydraulic Grapple
Description
The TAG 35 Dala-Gripen is a two-arm grapple for deep water operation, operated through a salt water based hydraulic system. The grapple is part of the Water Tooling Pack™, a package covering the complete system from ROV to tool.
Because the TAG 35 Dala-Gripen uses salt water as hydraulic fluid, no compensators (oil reservoirs) are needed, and the datasheet states that it can operate at depths up to 6000 m. The salt water system is presented as an alternative to oil-based hydraulic systems, where oil leakage can harm the environment and water ingress can damage pumps and valves.
The TAG 35 Dala-Gripen has a max load of 5 ton, a max opening of 1820 mm, a minimum gripping diameter of 125 mm and a gripping area of 0.35 m². It is 770 mm high fully open, 610 mm high fully closed and 930 mm long when closed, with a width of 485 mm and a max width of 495 mm. The HD water gasket cylinders are rated for 90–200 bar max working pressure and 30–120 l/min water flow.
