Trimble CenterPoint RTX Marine
Real-Time GNSS Correction Service
Description
Trimble CenterPoint RTX Marine is a real-time GNSS correction service from Trimble that uses an absolute positioning technique to model and correct GNSS error sources, delivering centimetre-level accuracy via satellite or the internet. CenterPoint RTX Marine is a subscription-based service for marine survey and construction applications worldwide.
CenterPoint RTX Marine gives < 2 cm horizontal RMS and < 5 cm vertical RMS accuracy; achievable accuracy and initialisation time may vary with receiver and antenna, location, atmospheric activity, scintillation, GNSS constellation health and multipath, and accuracy may vary beyond 100 nautical miles from the coast. Convergence time is < 1 minute in Trimble RTX Fast regions (throughout North America and Europe), and worldwide < 3 minutes with Trimble ProPoint receivers or < 15 minutes with legacy receivers. Regional coverage is available up to 100 nautical miles from continental coastlines, and global coverage beyond 100 nautical miles.
CenterPoint RTX Marine corrections are delivered with redundancy via satellite or internet and use AES encryption for anti-spoofing protection. Trimble operates redundant network operations centres with around-the-clock monitoring, and a global network of reference stations uploads real-time GNSS data to these centres, which transmit corrections through separate upload links to geostationary Trimble RTX satellites; cloud servers also provide the correction stream via the internet. The service uses GPS, Galileo, GLONASS, BeiDou-II, BeiDou-III and QZSS signals, with constellation inclusion dependent on area and beam selection.
Compatible devices for CenterPoint RTX Marine include the Trimble R780 integrated receiver, the Trimble R750, MPS865, SPS855, BX992 and Next Gen MPS566 modular receivers, and Applanix POS MV hardware (BD992, BD982), with Rugged Zephyr 3, 540 AP and GA830 antennas recommended for modular receivers. Trimble Marine Construction and Applanix PosPac MMS are also listed as compatible. CenterPoint RTX Marine can be used alongside a base-rover RTK setup or rover-only RTK within an RTK-network footprint, or as rover-only positioning with the CenterPoint RTX Marine service.
