Become our new Group Business Controller

NOR Group is growing fast and has significant international growth ambitions ahead. To strengthen our team, we are looking for a strong Group Business Controller.

This key position will be central to further developing the company's finance function. You will be responsible for unified financial reporting and serve as a key support to the CFO and the wider group management team. The role will work closely with regional management to understand business development and profitability drivers, and actively contribute with analyses, initiatives, and follow-up to ensure goal achievement.

We're looking for someone structured and precise, with a solid professional foundation and a strong commitment to digitalizing and streamlining processes. You communicate well with all levels of the organization.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and improve the company's internal reporting and finance processes, and facilitate effective tools and systems
  • Gather financial data from our international entities, follow up on their financial reporting, and consolidate this data at group level
  • Act as an active sparring partner for regional management, responsible for analyzing performance trends, identifying variances and drivers, and proposing and following up on concrete initiatives to improve profitability and goal achievement
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
  • Further develop and follow up on KPIs and action plans, including close follow-up with regions to ensure execution and impact of initiatives
  • Help ensure we make good use of data for management information
  • Conduct analyses (investment analyses, profitability analyses, market, pricing, etc.) and translate these into concrete recommendations and improvement initiatives in collaboration with the regions
  • Responsible for budgeting and forecasting
  • Support the CFO in strategic decision-making processes

Qualifications

  • Higher education in economics, finance, or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably from an international group
  • Experience with reporting solutions and Business Intelligence tools
  • Solid understanding of financial principles and standards
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate analyses into concrete recommendations and initiatives
  • Good business understanding and the ability to identify what drives profitability and development across different units and markets
  • Structured and precise, with strong follow-through
  • Proactive and solution-oriented, with the ability to identify areas for improvement and take initiative
  • Strong collaboration skills and the ability to build relationships across the organization and geographies
  • Confident in dialogue with managers, able to challenge and set expectations constructively
  • Able to work closely with operational management and follow up that initiatives actually deliver results
  • Strong communication skills, both written and spoken, in Norwegian and English
