BOP Tooling Skid
Two-Stage ROV BOP Intervention Skid
Description
The BOP Tooling Skid is an ROV tooling skid designed to deliver a tool and the fluid required to deliver high flow, then high pressure, and shut down a BOP system in a secondary emergency where ROV intervention is required, in line with API S53 standards. The BOP Tooling Skid is suitable for connection to most work class ROVs; the pin configuration fits the Triton XLX ROV as standard and can be adapted to other work class ROVs.
The BOP Tooling Skid builds up system pressure in two separate stages to seal the well bore. Stage 1 delivers a maximum flow rate of 450 L/min at 90 bar, and the BOP rams are operated with a maximum pressure of 345 bar at 100 L/min. Pressure switch-over is manual, and automatic switching can be installed (optional).
The BOP Tooling Skid is designed to be run from a 150 Hp vehicle and runs directly from the ROV main system with zero cross contamination. The input medium is mineral oil, and output media are mineral oil, sea water and water-based glycol, with methanol as an option where the seals are upgraded. The two 200 L soft fluid reservoirs supplied as standard can switch over to pumping seawater once the reservoir fluid has been injected.
The BOP Tooling Skid weighs 715 kg in air and 50 kg in water, with dimensions L3605 × W1905 × L610 mm. Included are the BOPSS pump, multipurpose skid with buoyancy, pressure gauges, skid lift frame, seawater suction valve, 2 × 200 L soft fluid reservoirs, operational hoses, operations manual and certificate pack. A spares kit and a topside transfer pump are available (optional).
