Description
The Forum Subsea Technologies ISO 13628-8 Class 1–4 (API 17D) Surface Torque Tool Verification Unit is used to give pre-dive surface confirmation of torque tool calibration. It consists of a standard ISO class 1–4 torque reaction bucket with a base and a built-in torque sensor, and has a maximum torque of 2,700 Nm (2,000 ft lbs).
The torque interface of the Class 1–4 verification unit is ISO 13628-8 Fig 18 Class 1–4, with interchangeable shafts and adaptors for Class 1 & 2 (11/16" Sq), Class 3 (1-1/8" Sq) and Class 4 (1-1/2" Sq). The unit has a battery powered handheld digital read-out and USB output to the Torque Tool Control System, and comes complete with a USB cable to connect to the FORUM Torque Tool Control System for auto calibration.
The verification unit has a steel shaft and aluminium housing and is supplied in an offshore suitable transit case. The box contains the torque tool bucket including sensor, the Class 1 & 2, Class 3 and Class 4 adaptors, a handheld display, bucket to display cable and display to PC cable. A High Torque Tool Adaptor (A019-958-174, with 35 mm AF square shaft) and a Petrobras Torque Tool Adaptor (A019-958-175, with 1-3/8" AF hex shaft) are available (optional).
