Class 6-7 Torque Tool
ISO 13628-8 Class 6/7 ROV Torque Tool
Description
The Forum Subsea Technologies ISO 13628-8 17KNm Torque Tool is a subsea torque tool for operating Class 6 and Class 7 valve interfaces. The torque interface is based on ISO 13628-8 Fig 18 (API 17D) Class 7, except for the length of the nose of the tool (reduced length), and maximum torque is 17,000 Nm (12,600 ft lbs).
A socket inset lets the tool operate Class 6 size or Class 7 size socket valves, with socket sizes of 3-1/2" square and 2-5/8" square. The tool has a dual sensor inductive turns count sensor, an 8 pin Burton electrical connector and uses mineral oil as hydraulic fluid. Weight in air/water is stated as 74/55 (160/120).
The tool can be supplied with a hot stab receptacle, electronic turns counter and integrated compensator unit, so that it can be deployed to the subsea work site in a basket, separate from the ROV, and connected with a hot stab. It is supplied in an offshore transit case.
The datasheet lists the following in the box: torque tool, Class 6 socket, Class 7 socket, Universal Subsea Display (USD), USD battery pack, fish tail handle, bladder style compensator, operations and maintenance manual and USD charger. A spares kit, verification unit, torque tool control system, FLOT, kit to fit the tool to FLOT and GHO adaptor kit are listed as part numbers and options (optional).
