Electrical Torque Tool Class 1-4
Electrical ROV Torque Tool, ISO Class 1–4
Description
The Blue Logic Class 1-4 Electrical Torque Tool (ELTT) is a module based, servo driven electrical torque tool for subsea and ROV operation of ISO Class 1–4 interfaces. It is rated to 3000 m (pressure rating 300 bar) and has a hard anodized aluminium construction.
Interface sockets are changed on deck before deployment to suit ISO Class 1–4 interfaces. Each socket sets the gear system to the matching gear ratio, and the control system detects socket and gear ratio and switches automatically between low torque and high torque mode. Maximum output is 350 Nm at up to 30 rpm in low torque mode and 2700 Nm at up to 6 rpm in high torque mode.
The ELTT is designed for ROVs with a minimum of 5 A at 110 VAC continuous power available. Maximum continuous current consumption is 20 A and maximum power consumption is 2 kW. The electrical interface is Burton 5506-2008 for 110/230 VAC 50/60 Hz or 160–320 VDC, and the tool communicates over RS232 (RS232/RS485 stated in the specification table).
The tool is connected through a 3.5 m oil filled umbilical to an electrical power control module (electrical pod base) mounted on the ROV. The ROV torque tool weighs 34 kg in air and 25.7 kg in water, the electrical pod base weighs 13.8 kg in air and 5 kg in water, and stated system weight is 52.4 kg with dimensions of 1500 × 528 × 160 mm.
