IHPU DCV Backpack

Description

The IHPU DCV Backpack is a dual media intensifier backpack for ROVs that supplies pressurised media through a 3.9:1 ratio Minibooster pump. The circuit is split into a low-pressure input side and a high-pressure output side, and the backpack can be fitted to various ROVs.

On the low-pressure side, adjustable valves give pressure and flow control. Max input pressure is 3,000 psi (210 bar) and max input flow is 40 lpm. The flow control valve is set to 38 LPM and is adjustable up to 45 LPM. The pressure reducing valve is set to 1,300 psi to suit the 5 kpsi directional control valves on the HP side, and is adjustable up to 3,000 psi (210 bar).

On the high-pressure side, pump output is max 10,000 psi (690 bar) and max 8.7 LPM. A 3 station pilot operated directional control block with a max working pressure of 5,000 psi provides 3 × A&B functions, controlled via pilot control lines. An HP pressure relief valve set to 5,400 psi limits the pump output pressure and can be adjusted from 1,000–10,000 psi.

Fluid capacity is 80 litres (2 × 40 L bladders) or 2 × 16 L compensators. The IHPU DCV Backpack measures 1420 × 540 × 900 mm and weighs 165 kg, 115 kg in water. Input connections are 8 JIC and 4 JIC with hoses supplied 2.5 m long, and output connections are 6 JIC with hoses supplied 5 m long.
