SWiFT SVP

Description

The Valeport SWiFT SVP is a sound velocity profiler with Valeport's digital time of flight sound velocity sensor, a temperature compensated piezo-resistive pressure transducer and a PRT temperature sensor. Conductivity, salinity and density are calculated with Valeport's DASH formula, and an integral GPS module geo-locates each profile.

Sound velocity is measured over 1375–1900 m/s with ±0.02 m/s accuracy, pressure to 50 bar and temperature from −5 to +35 °C with ±0.01 °C accuracy. Data is downloaded over Bluetooth with the SWiFT app on iOS devices, or by USB, and can be shared in industry standard formats.

The profiler is rated to 500 m, measures ø78 × 264 mm and weighs 2.0 kg in air and 0.9 kg in water. The internal rechargeable Li-ion battery gives up to 5 days of operation, and a typical 1-hour USB fast charge gives 12 hours.
