Torque Tool Class 1-4 Smart Socket

Hydraulic ISO 13628-8 Class 1–4 Torque Tool

Description

The ToolTec Rotary Torque Tool (Torque Tool Class 1–4 Smart Socket) is a hydraulically powered ROV torque tool for rotary torque interfaces as described in ISO 13628-8 Fig 18, also known as API 17D Class 1–4. The tool is designed to comply with Classes 1–4 of torque receptacles and end effectors as quoted in ISO 13628-8 Tables 3 & 4.

The ToolTec Rotary Torque Tool gives real-time torque feedback, turns count and tool rotational direction. Strain gauge and turns signals are on an 8 pin subconn micro connector. The torque range is 50–540 Nm in low torque and 230–2711 Nm in high torque. The maximum rated torque per interface class is 67 Nm for Class 1, 271 Nm for Class 2, 1355 Nm for Class 3 and 2711 Nm for Class 4.

Hydraulic latches lock the tool into the ISO 13628-8 Fig 18 (API 17D) receptacle, with a latch pull load of 700 kg. The latches take a maximum pressure of 207 bar, and the maximum continuous motor pressure is 175 bar, using Tellus 22 or equivalent hydraulic oil.

The ToolTec Rotary Torque Tool is rated to 3000 msw and an operating temperature of 0–60 °C. It measures 615 × 453 × 262 mm and weighs 46 kg in air and 37 kg in water.
