Tritech SeaNet SCU V5
Sonar Surface Control Unit
Description
The Tritech Seanet SCUv5 is a surface control unit for operating Tritech sonars and survey sensors, built as a 19" 3U rack mount unit. It runs Microsoft Windows Embedded on an internal solid-state disk and is pre-loaded with Tritech Seanet Pro control and display software, which can integrate Gemini and SeaKing devices for a single point of control for the sensors on an ROV.
A 156 kbit·s⁻¹ communication system in the Seanet SCUv5 lets a suite of Tritech sensors be operated over a single twisted pair, or over an RS232 or fibre optic interface using the Tritech MultiComm Junction Box. Each connected device runs in real time in its own on-screen window, and the display can show single or multiple windows. The software is controlled with a Remote Access Terminal (RAT), which clips onto the front of the unit or is used remotely via a cable, and has a mini-joystick for range and bearing measurements on sonar data.
Interfaces are 4 × 9-pin DE-9 ports (configurable RS-232, RS-485, RS-422, ARCNET), 1 × 15-pin DA-15 port for ARCNET or RS232, a 24 VDC 36 VA output for equipment testing, front and rear USB 2.0 ports, a multi-card reader (CF Type 1 and SD) and Ethernet. Input voltage is 100–240 VAC 50/60 Hz with 250 W nominal power consumption. The unit has a case width of 432 mm (482 mm front panel), a height of 133 mm and a depth of 325 mm (376 mm including handles), and weighs approximately 10 kg. Stated applications include Tritech sonar and survey sensor control, third-party equipment control, integration of GPS with survey data, and logging and playback of sonar scans.
