Valeport TideMaster

Portable Tide Gauge with Pressure or Radar Sensor

Description

The Valeport TideMaster is a portable water level recorder for short or long term survey operations. It measures tide with either a pressure transducer or a radar level sensor, and can run autonomously for up to a year on alkaline C cells.

The logging unit has a data display panel, a 512 MB SD card and an integral wireless module for short-range communication, with RS232/RS485 for cabled communication. Raw data is sampled at 8 Hz, with five pre-programmed burst modes, a custom mode and continuous 1 Hz sampling, and data is logged to 1 mm resolution. Telemetry packages such as a UHF radio extend the system to real-time operation.

The standard pressure transducer is a vented strain gauge with a 10 dBar (~10 m) range, 20 m cable and ±0.1 % full scale accuracy. The VRS-20 radar level sensor (option) measures from 0.8 to 20 m with ±10 mm accuracy. Weather sensors and a miniCT conductivity sensor can also be connected.

The logging unit has an IP67 injection moulded housing, measures 52 × 144.5 × 197 mm and weighs about 1.1 kg including batteries. It is supplied with a wall mounting bracket, batteries, TideMaster Express Windows software and an operating manual.
