Zetechtics Jupiter 2 Torque Tool Control System
Subsea Torque Tool Control System
Description
The Jupiter 2 Torque Tool Control System is a subsea control system for torque tools in high integrity applications. The Jupiter 2 has one combined proportional pressure and flow function of 0–240 bar and 0–32 lpm, typically for torque tool control, and four bi-directional solenoid valve functions, each with externally mounted manual pressure and flow adjustment valves.
The NG6 pressure and flow control valve is driven by a 12 bit constant current drive, and the pressure control valve has a 250 bar transducer to monitor tool pressure. Each function has an internally mounted output pressure transducer, and the system has one external 700 bar pressure transducer. Torque is measured through a strain gauge input (0.375 mV/V sensitivity, 12 bit measurement resolution), and turns count through discrete digital inputs with hysteresis.
The Jupiter 2 runs on a 115 VAC supply (2 A, 240 W) and has an RS232/RS485 data link with galvanic isolation to 1500 VDC. It has four sensor inputs configurable as discrete digital inputs or as analogue inputs for 4–20 mA or 0–10 V sensors, provision for connection to a high flow valve pack (HFVP), two external water detectors and an internal water detector with two sense points.
The Jupiter 2 main body measures 245 × 325 × 187 mm, weighs 28.8 kg in air and 16.8 kg in seawater, and is rated to 3000 msw.
